I have done a complete re-vamp of my website at www.dougchinnery.co.uk and would welcome your comments on the new look and functionality, especially if you can find any snags or broken links.

I have tried to make it faster and more polished. I have also reduced the number of images to present just my favorite work. I post far more images on my Flickr stream, but some of those I don't want to put up on the main website.

So all feedback, good, bad and indifferent is much appreciated

Hi Doug,
I've just had a look through your website again, and it's easy to navigate, loads quickly and is pleasing to the eye. I can't see anything wrong that would drive people away.

I have a couple of usability comments which may or may not be useful to you. I'm basing these on some reviews I had recently on my site:

1. I couldn't find a search box, and the gallery names didn't give me much guidance. If I was looking for a landscape, should I go into "landscapes 1", "landscapes 2", or "landscapes 3". If I was a fan of trees, or moody sunsets, should I go to fine art or landscapes, etc. As a user, I found that a bit confusing, and I wonder if a different naming strategy might help people home in on what they are searching for more easily?

2. Some of your galleries only contain one or two images (for example, "fine art 2") which left me wondering where the rest were. I wasn't sure at first if you had galleries within galleries, or if I was meant to wait longer for the page to load.

Cheers
David
